WTH is wrong with #debian these days? This must be the 5th time this year that a clean server install ends up having x11-common installed for no good reason.
Even the installation of the "server" flavour comes with some desktop environments pre-selected (hey, it's a server image?).
Oh well, TL;DR: nowadays these are a must on Debian:
